Volunteers are needed to set up the New EUSEM Academy! Join us!

Would you like to become a EUSEM active member? We are actively seeking volunteers to play a crucial role in shaping the new EUSEM Academy.

How could you help? By dedicating a few hours each week to evaluate the previous EUSEM Academy platform and identify its strengths and weaknesses. You will also need to test the user interface of the new EUSEM Academy platform and suggest ideas to make it more comprehensive and engaging.

You will be working as a part of a team to develop a proposal for the NEW EUSEM Academy platform from the user’s perspective.

This is a good opportunity to broaden your knowledge in the field, contribute to boosting a promising educational tool, and, last but not least, learn how digital platforms can effectively facilitate learning in this area.

Join us in this exciting educational project!

call for proposals for CLINICAL CASE SCENARIOS

We need volunteers to create a collection of scenarios, written by and shared among educators in Emergency Medicine (EM). The scenarios are intended to be used locally by educators in EM for the purpose of training Residents and specialists in EM.

Project Background

The practice of EM demands many competences of its practitioners (reference revised ETR), and not all these competences can be efficiently acquired while working clinically. There is a need for educational training in the classroom/simulation lab focusing on rare cases, uncommon presentations, complex cases and cases where immediate management is required.

According to current pedagogical theory, adults learn best through scenario-based training and group discussion {Beard, 2006 #4218;Merriam, 2013 #4219}. Given the breadth of EM, educators would benefit from a large collection of scenarios tagged to elements in the syllabus of the European Training Requirement. A mechanism by which EM educators in Europe could share scenarios would allow for a collection covering many aspects of EM, and it would promote a degree of uniformity in resident education throughout Europe.
