EUSEM Workshop 2025 on Fractures and Injuries in Adult and Paediatric Emergency Medicine
The conference aims to summarise the evidence for the care of non-major trauma in adults and paediatric Emergency Medicine. The format for the conference is as follows:
- two plenaries each day attended by all attendees
- followed by case-based interactive lectures run as informal tutorial style lecture groups to encourage audience participation/led (2 groups each day)
- followed by master classes consisting smaller group practical teaching (4 groups).
The plenaries serve as a combination of opinion and an evidence summary around core topics. The emphasis on if what we know and best evidence.
The interactive lectures serve to discuss the care of core topics where there is a wide range of care options, with each topic followed by a mini review for the speakers to present best practice. The lecturer presents a case (2-5 mins), invites audience members to say how they would manage this (5-10 mins) and then presents a core summary (5-10 mins). The emphasis is on share learning with audience participation and topic discussion. We will cover three themes, each 25 mins. Ideally we have 2-3 speakers from different countries.
The workshops pick up on points from plenary and CBDs with focus on ‘how to deliver’. The emphasis is on ‘how to do’ and each workshop has 2-3 leads and may be run as one session of separate stations.
