Job description

Fellowship for 3 up to 6 months (3 months is possible, 6 months is recommended). The fellow will work in our Emergency Department (ED) as Emergency Physician Registrar, with special focus on Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM). The fellowship will provide opportunities for clinical care, teaching and research – although research seems more achievable for a fellowship of 6 months than for a fellowship of 3 months. With the volume of patients increasing every year, we expect approx. 40.000 patients of which approx. 7500 children in 2019. We are a referral site for tertiary paediatrics within the region. Our ED is a level I Trauma Center and has an integrated Division of Transport Medicine for PICU patients. Our physicians also provide pre-hospital care in the field, together with a nurse. The members of the faculty focus on  emergency ultrasound, major trauma, CPR, sepsis and simulation teaching. We are currently exploring possibility for a HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service). As a fellow you will be able to develop skills within these fields as well, although all with a focus on the pediatric patient.
