Job description

Participate in the daily clinical activities in the ED at St. Olav’s
University Hospital in Norway. Education and clinical discussions.
Language is a barrier, but the fellow may experience, talk to, and
see patients. The fellow may participate in procedures, including POCUS.

Educational opportunities

Around 25000 patients arrive to the ED at St. Olav’s University
Hospital annually. The department has a short stay unit and an
outpatient emergency clinic adjacent to the ED. EM was recently
accepted as a new specialty in Norway and the EDs in Norway are
being reorganized and more full time physicians are working in
the ED. The ED at St. Olav’s University Hospital focus on student
and physician education and focus on the use of ultrasound in the
acute clinical setting. Fellows will experience the young and
dynamic ED environment and characteristics of the Norwegian
Health Care System.

Specific requirements

Adequate English language skills. St. Olav’s University Hospital
offer no payment or official accommodation. For shorter stays
private accommodation may be possible.
