Educational opportunities

The Level 1 Emergency Department covering all fields of EM, including focused EM sonography, shock, trauma, simulation training, regular CME w/ point accreditation

Research projects currently active

The Department hosts five research groups on different topics in emergency medicine: 
Point of Care Ultrasound (currently planning a multicentre RCT on Ultrasound in Pneumonia) 

  • Diagnostic Error and Patient safety (presently several ongoing studies together with cognitive psychology) 
  • Migration medicine (currently active collaboration with New-York University) 
  • Wilderness Medicine (right now an active cooperation with the high altitude research group EURAC in Bolzano) 
  • Infectious diseases (at present implementing an interventional trial in Sepsis) 
  • Moreover, we supervise numerous rolling research projects in the context of a doctoral and habilitation thesis
