Job description

Within a two-to-six week period, the trainee can get accustomed to a new environment, become an active part of our department, and visit other EDs and ambulance facilities throughout the region. Trainee can also gain specific experience in the application of “ultrasonography” in the emergency department. 

Activities in the Akdeniz University Department of Emergency Medicine: 

  • observing clinical practice 
  • bedside teaching 
  • watching procedures 
  • classroom teaching  
  • attending clinical meetings 
  • doing a research project (preparatory work should be done before the visit) 
  • visiting other EDs and EMS in the city 
  • using the medical school resources to learn independently

Year of training of the applicants

To have satisfactorily completed the second year (e.g. be in the third year or later) of a training programme in Emergency Medicine 

Specific requirements

Trainee should send required documents to Local Fellowship Coordinator at least 4 months before the visit (A letter of application; Foreigners Identity Information Form for Higher Education Council; Certificate of Duty document from the Institution where trainee works; a copy of passport photo page) to get the instutional approval. 

Level of insurance provided

Trainee should have a health insurance covering insurance of occupational accidents and professional diseases
