getting to copenhagen From the airport

Copenhagen Airport is Northern Europe’s air traffic hub, with direct flights tomore than 150 international destinations. The city centre is just 13 minutes fromthe airport by train or underground; and Bella Center Copenhagen is a stop onthis line, situated less than 10 minutes from both the airport and city centre. Many new underground stations will open in 2019, connecting the entire cityand making it even easier to get from point A to point B.

If you become a EUSEM member first you get a reduced registration fee.


In order to register for the Congress and make payments, you must login to your personal registration account through the MyCongressOnline platform

If you do not have an account yet, you will be able to create one in a few clicks. 
If you already have a MyCO account, you may login to view your orders.

Please note: Once you have created an account, you will be able to register for all events and courses managed by this solution.

Both EUSEM and MyCO registration platforms are secure to make online payments by card. 

MyCO will allow participants to:

- manage their personal details
- check and update their orders (registration, accommodation, social events...)
- check their schedule (presenters, moderators, chairmen...)
- check and update their abstract submissions
- download all PDF documents edited for the congress (confirmation, invoice, QR-Pass...) but also for previous congresses managed through myCO

Pre-Course Registration / 19-20 September, 2020

Each pre-course has a limited number of places available. To guarantee your place, please sign up as soon as possible.
Please note that each pre-course has a minimum number of participants needed for the course to take place. In case the minimum number is not reached, the pre-course may be cancelled. 

Pre-courses can be added to your congress registration or booked separately if you do not wish to attend the core congress.

The registration fee includes:

EUSEM and DASEM members will have a discount fee on registration.

Attention: Member fees are applicable only if your are up to date of your contribution at the time of registration. 
Registrations under this status will be verified automatically. If you are not member or if your membership was not duly paid, you will not have access to these fees.

Cancellation received before the 15 August will incur an administrative fee of 50% with a minimum of 100 euros.

Abstract submission


Welcome to the EUSEM 2020 abstracts submission's page

Important dates of the abstract submission process:
Abstract submission opening date: 20 January  2020

Abstract submission UNIQUE DEADLINE: 30 March 2020 - Midnight (CEST) +02:00 UTC (no delay)

Before you can submit your abstract you must create an online account
No need to be registered to the congress to submit.

If you have participated to any EUSEM conference in the last years you should already have an account on the congres registration platform: MyCongressOnline.
If the system says: "The provided E-mail address already exists". You can click the reset password button. You will receive an email with your login name and a link to reset your password. If you do not already have an account, you can create one.

Log into your account or create a new account.

 Important: please respect the “Who’s who?”

  1. The submitter’s account will receive the acceptance(s) and schedule documents
  2. Once accepted, the «presenter» of the abstract has to be registered to the congress, and will receive the certificate of presentation of the poster(s) / presentations listed on his account.
  3. The first author, will be posted in first on the authors’ list.

Step 0: Select your type of submission

Please select the type of abstract you are submitting:
- Submit a Case report
- Submit an Image in Emergency Medicine report
- Submit a Research abstract

Step 1: General information about your abstract

Your abstract can only be submitted in English and must include:

- An English title
- A list of authors with their affiliations: make sure the names, degrees, and affiliations are consistent on every abstract you submit, or that lists you as an author.
-  A designated speaker
-  A topic and a list of key words
-  The main text of the abstract

Step 2: Title

  • Your title must be as short as possible.
  • It should summarize the abstract and contain the major key words, including the study design (survey, observational, trial, systematic review)
  • The title must be in lowercase, with a capital at the beginning
  • Do not use any small capitals or all capitals in the title
  • Do not use any asterisks or notes
  • Do not include any abbreviations. Every word should be spelled.

Step 3: Select your topic and wishes of presentation

Please select the topic of abstract (Administration, Airway, Biomarkers, Cardiovascular…), then select your wish of presentation. Based on the reviewer’s assessment, your abstract will be assigned a type of presentation: Oral presentation, or Short oral presentation (Oral E-Poster) or E-Poster.

Step 4: Authors

You must create the list of authors using the “Create a new author” form.
Once created, you may add the authors (first author and co-authors) and select a speaker.

The speaker has to be the person designed to make the oral presentation or the one in charge of the E-Poster. The speaker must be registered to the congress.

Step 5: Abstract Text 

  • Your abstract must not exceed 500 words
  • You should prepare the body of the abstract using a text editor (Word, TextEdit, etc.). You can use any font; the text will be automatically formatted once submitted. We strongly recommend that you do not use any Greek letters, but instead their plain text counterparts: "Delta" instead of "Δ ", etc.
  • You must not insert any image, illustration or table in the abstract
  • Do not use bullet lists
  • Do not include bibliographic references in abstract text.
  • If you use abbreviations, spell the name in full when first mentioned, followed by the abbreviation in parenthesis.

Step 6: Validation and submission process

Initially, the abstracts are registered under a "Draft" status. You will receive an email confirming the registration of your abstract and that it is in draft status. If you do not receive this email within 48 hours, please contact us.

When your abstract is in draft form, you may return to your account at any time to amend the content or submit the final version. Abstracts in draft form MUST be submitted formally before the deadline. When you click SUBMIT, your abstract will change to the status “Submitted”, and you will receive a confirmation of your submission by email. Only abstracts with a "Submitted" status will be forwarded to the Abstract Committee for review.

Abstract Publication

The European Journal of Emergency Medicine (EJEM) will publish the top 10 abstracts that receive the highest review scores. Abstracts will be considered for publication in our journal only if the author is registered for the meeting.

Top Three Scoring Abstracts will be presented during the award ceremony. The best abstract will receive the “Best EUSEM 20 abstract” price.


ePosters will be displayed on LCD screens in a specific area. Your poster should have been done on Mircosoft PowerPoint sofware and should be a single slide. The ePoster screens dimensions are 132cm in width and 75cm in height. A template is available here.

If selected, your abstract will be classified in one of the three following categories:

  • For reports of original research, the data must have not been published in a manuscript or e-publication prior to the first day of conference. Previous publications as abstract or as a presentation in a conference (national or international) is accepted.
  • If selected authors (oral presentation or ePoster oral presentation) are not present at their presentation designated time and that they fail to inform the organising committee in advance future abstracts by the same author(s) will be rejected.
  • All submitters of accepted abstracts must be registered to the conference to be included in the final program
  • All abstracts should be written in English

YEMD Speed Networking Session

Monday 21 September 2020 - 

Ask the questions you’ve always wanted to ask, but never had the chance to…

The YEMD Speed Networking event is back for the fifth year! The session is a unique opportunity for EM trainees of all grades to discuss issues with the leaders and influencers of emergency medicine from across Europe in a relaxed, informal setting over lunch. The session is always well received, with many delegates remarking that it is a highlight of the congress.

We are limited to 50 places this year so advise early booking to avoid disappointment. There is a small fee of €15 to secure a place. All proceeds will go directly towards supporting the EUSEM fellowships for young emergency physicians.

Dear friends,

Our next EUSEM annual meeting moves to the Scandinavian region; the Danish Society for Emergency Medicine is this year’s host in the beautiful city of Copenhagen, from 19 to 23 of September. A time of the year when there is still a chance to enjoy the outdoor life of the town and experience the Danish concept of “hygge”.

This year the Organising and Scientific committees have introduced new aspects that will make this congress another memorable event. The Scientific program has been expanded with more tracks orientated to nurses and paramedics. A new dedicated educational track focussed on ETR Curriculum review will prepare you for exams and will lead you to be the best EMD.

The simulation activities will be again a hot spot of the congress with more teams and more demanding scenarios, if possible.

More than 120 speakers including 3 keynote speakers will form the scientific backbone of the congress, with excellent professionals, uptodate topics, and vibrating discussion panels.

The congress is also the opportunity for European collaborators to meet in groups, present study results and discuss new projects. This is an essential objective of our scientific society, creating a venue where clinical science is moulded and giving more members an opportunity to get involved.

We are preparing charming social events that will be the ideal chance to meet old friends and make new ones, supporting permanent network for professional life.

As organizers, we are aware of the environmental impact that a congress generates, and in consequence, we pretend to be as eco-friendly as possible. This aspect is going to be central in all our activities.

You can't miss Copenhagen 2020; do not let others tell you about it, take part!
